Our Story
Our journey began in 2009 when EasyTransfer’s Co-founder and President Tony Gao was accepted into a boarding school in the Midwest of the United States. Every semester, completing the international bank transfer to pay for tuition fees was the biggest challenge for both him and his family. The inconvenience of having to operate at the bank counter in-person, the long waiting time and an inexperienced bank teller meant that his mother would have to spend a whole day at the bank just to make one payment. A lack of support, unfamiliar operating interfaces, and complexities of foreign exchange regulations made the traditional process of wiring money to an overseas institution very arduous.
Determined to simplify the payment process, Tony founded EasyTransfer in 2013 with a team of international student association Presidents and leaders who experienced the same difficulties and wanted to change the student experience. Born out of the need for an easier, more efficient way to make international payments, EasyTransfer allowed students to easily pay tuition, housing, and more fees to educational institutions worldwide.
